About the Position

 

VNT Technologies is looking for an exceptional Signal Processing Researcher with a strong background in signal processing, statistical modelling, or related fields.

 

No experience in finance or trading is required.

 

We are particularly interested in people who have worked with:

• radar or sonar systems;

• audio and speech signal processing;

• active noise cancellation;

• digital signal processing (DSP);

• telecommunications and wireless signals;

• sensor fusion;

• signal pre-processing and post-processing;

• detection, estimation or tracking problems.

 

Our work involves extracting weak and short-lived signals from extremely noisy data. Many of the underlying problems may be closer to radar, communications and signal processing than to traditional finance.

 

How You Will Make an Impact

 

You will research and build models for noisy, rapidly changing real-world data, including:

• detecting weak signals in noisy environments;

• filtering, denoising and signal pre-processing;

• spectral and time-frequency analysis;

• modelling non-stationary signals;

• signal detection and statistical estimation;

• adaptive filtering and online learning;

• combining multiple noisy information sources;

• identifying regime changes and unusual events;

• evaluating whether observed patterns are real, robust and exploitable.

 

You will work with large real-world datasets and have the ability to test ideas quickly. Successful research can move from an initial hypothesis to a live production system.

 

What You Bring to the Team

 

We care more about how you think than about your previous industry.

 

You may be a strong fit if you have experience in one or more of the following:

• digital signal processing;

• radar or sonar;

• audio processing and active noise cancellation;

• wireless communications;

• sensor fusion;

• control systems;

• applied mathematics or statistics;

• physics or electrical engineering;

• time-series modelling.

 

What We're Looking For

 

• strong mathematical and analytical ability;

• experience working with noisy real-world signals;

• strong Python, MATLAB, C++ or similar technical skills;

• ability to design rigorous experiments and distinguish genuine signal from noise;

• curiosity and willingness to apply ideas outside your previous domain.

 

What Does Not Matter

 

• Years of experience — mastery takes time, but we don’t put arbitrary numbers on it.

• Your previous industry — finance or trading experience is not required.
